Gerald Raymond Wolf, 86, of Hamden, Passed away at Yale New Haven Hospital, on August 30, 2013. He was born in New York City on June 25, 1927 to the late Frank and Minnie Simes Wolf. Jerry will be remembered by his loving wife of 62 wonderful years, Laura Wetmore Wolf; his son, John Wolf of Hamden; his daughter, Linda Campagna and her husband Thomas of Stewartstown, PA; grandchildren, Kate Campagna, Kerri and David Wolf, Jamie Nicolson, Kari Streib; sister, Norma Mason of Hamden. Predeceased by his brother Clifford Wolf. Jerry proudly spent over two years in the US Navy after high school. He had been a member of the Mt. Carmel Congregational Church for over 70 years and was a past President of the Men's Club. A member of Day Spring Lodge for 65 years, York Rights 32nd degree, Scottish Rights 32nd degree and a Shriner for 46 years. As a Shriner, Jerry was a member of the Pyramid Drum & Bugle Corps and drove crippled children to the Shriner's Hospital in Boston. He had worked for the NH Railroad for 9 years before his 35 years as a Hamden Fireman. Friends may visit with Jerry's family on Tuesday, September 3rd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. His Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a burial with Military Honors at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. He was always ready and willing to help whenever and wherever he could. He never missed an opportunity for a joke and a wee bit of horseplay. Nothing harmful, just plain Gerry being Gerry. Laura an extra special blessing for you, as the last few years were difficult. But, how wonderful for you that you shared 62 years at each other’s side.
