Gertrude 'Trudy' M. Wildman, age 83, of Hamden, passed away on February 22, 2013 surrounded by her family. Born in Waterbury on June 20, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Leo & Ellen Ryan Steinle. Trudy is survived by her husband George R. Wildman; her son Karl & his wife Joy Wildman of Hamden; her grandchildren Kelsea, Alexa & Reagan Wildman and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Leona Sullivan & Willetta Steinle. Trudy was a former school teacher, she also did volunteer teaching at the United Nations in NYC and volunteered for the American Cancer Society. She was a member of the Allegro Club, enjoyed many events along with her husband with the National Cartoonist Society and had a passion for her knitting and other crafts. Friends may visit with her family on Tuesday, Feb. 26th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden and may attend her Prayer Service beginning at 6:00 pm during her calling hours. Interment will be at a later date. Contributions in Trudy's memory may be made to the Vitas Charitable Foundation, 199 Park Road Extension, Middlebury, CT 06762.
