Gladys M. Dawless

Gladys M. Dawless, 87 of Hamden, beloved wife of the late Walter J. Dawless, Sr. passed away peacefully October 1, 2011. Mother of Walter J. Dawless, Jr and his wife Brenda LaRose Dawless of N.Y. N. Y., sister of Florence Larabee of Arlington Heights, IL, and sister in law of Nadine Swanson of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her brother Clarence Swanson. She was born in Chicago, IL, July 10, 1924 a daughter of the late Emil and Hildur Gulhberg Swanson and resided in Hamden since 1950. Gladys served with the US Navy WAVES during WW II, and was employed at Quinnipiac College, and later was office manager at Etter Engineering Co. of Hamden until retirement. She was a member of the VASA Order, Diana Birger Jarl Lodge No.3. Relatives and friends may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT 2300 WHITNEY AVE. HAMDEN, Thursday Oct. 6, from 12-1pm and attend a prayer service at 1pm. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Hamden.
