Gladys P. Bohman, 92, died Friday, January 30, 2004, in Hamden, Connecticut. She was a longtime resident of Royal Oak, Michigan, and widow of Prof. George V. Bohman, former chair of the Department of Speech, Wayne State University. Daughter of the late Robert H. Presley and Blanche West Presley, she was born April 21, 1911, in Collinsville, Illinois, and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee. She graduated from East Tennessee State Teachers College and earned an M.A. in history from the University of Wisconsin. A teacher and homemaker, she was active in the First Congregational Church of Royal Oak and in the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches. She is survived by son Robert P. Bohman and wife Rev. Mary C. Bohman of Joliet, Montana, by son Eric J. Bohman and wife LouAnn S. Bohman of New Haven, CT, and also by granddaughter Anna Katherine Nentwig (Jeremy), grandson Leif-Erik S. Bohman, and great-grandson Seager Nentwig. Private interment services will be held in Princeton, Illinois. Memorial gifts may be made to the George Bohman Forensic Scholarship Fund, Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan 48202; to the Friends of Point Betsie Lighthouse, 3671 Point Betsie Lighthouse Rd., Honor, MI 49640; or to the Father McGivney Cancer Center, St. Raphael Hospital, 1450 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511. Arrangements under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
