Gloria Dudley Hackett, 90, of Orange passed away May 9, 2014 in St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. She was the wife of the late John Joseph Hackett, mother of Barbara Hackett Potkay of New Haven, John Dudley Hackett and his wife Karin of Bethany and Robert Dudley Hackett of Yokohama, Japan. She is also survived by grandchildren Timothy, Jeffrey, Nicholas and Mikayla Potkay all of Stokesdale, NC, Cameron and Chance Stine of Bethany and Toshiro and Aki Hackett both of Orange, and nephew Frank Hackett and his wife Sandy of Annville, PA and their children and grandchildren and Jerry and Lisa Potkay and other extended family. Gloria was born in Brooklyn, NY, July 5, 1923 daughter of the late Cecil and Margaret O'Connor Dudley. She retired in 1960 as secretary to the President of Union Trust Co. in New Haven and was a longtime parishioner of Holy Infant Church in Orange. Funeral from Beecher & Bennett-Taylor Funeral Home, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven on Friday, May 16 at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Infant Church at 10 a.m. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
