Gordon V. Olsen, 87, of Garfield Ave., North Haven, beloved husband of 55 years of Violet Alderson Olsen, passed away June 23, 2010. Father of Randi and David Olsen and brother of the late Edward S. Olsen. He was born in New Haven, Feb. 19, 1923 son of the late Edward and Sigourney Olsen and resided in North Haven since 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II aboard the U.S.S. Portland in the Pacific. After the war he was employed as a carpenter with union local #24. He later worked as a carpenter at Electric Boat in Groton until retiring in 1993. He was a member of the West Ridge Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years and was a member Corinthian Lodge # 103 A.F. & A.M. of North Haven. Friends may visit with his family on Thursday, July 1 from 11 a.m. - 1p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE, HAMDEN. Interment with military honors will follow in North Haven Center Cemetery.

He will be missed for his caring, character, and friendship to all who were at .the Ridge.. My thoughts and prayers go out to his beloved wife and and sons at this sad time.
