Harold Hotchkiss Tomlinson, 83, a resident of Ansonia since 1960, husband of the late Marjorie Beimler Tomlinson, passed away on April 5, 2011. Harold is survived by sons Raymond and his wife Susan Tomlinson of New Haven and Peter and his wife Karen Tomlinson of Seymour, daughter Susan and her husband Charles Peet of Ansonia, and a brother Sydney B. Tomlinson of Woodbridge. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son Harold Tomlinson, III, a brother Frank Tomlinson and 2 sisters Ellen Dudley and Carol Hurley. A son of the late Harold H. and Flora Hubbel Tomlinson, Sr., Harold was born in Stepney, CT on October 7, 1927. He served as an MP in the US Army in Alaska during WW II. He was a self-employed carpenter and was a Freemason and three time Past Master of Hiram Lodge #1, AF & AM. He was also very involved in the YorkRite bodies, as well as a 32 degree mason in the Scottish Rite. Harold was also very involved at the First Congregational Church of Ansonia. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 11 at 6 pm at the First Congregational Church, 44 South Cliff Street, Ansonia, CT 06401-3059. Memorial Contributions can be sent to The American Cancer Society, 825 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. Arrangements are in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden.
