Hazel L. Coley, age 70, of Canton, formerly of West Haven, passed away March 3, 2009 in Hartford Hospital. Hazel is the husband of DeLancey Cuyler Coley. Born in Goldsboro, NC on Feb. 17, 1939, he was a son of the late Arnold & Georgeanner Hamilton Coley. Hazel is the father of Kevin (Renee) Coley of New York, Gyda (Charles) Macklin of New York, Lolita (Chris) Davis of Meriden, Leroy Jenkins of Hamden, Lorena (James) Hawkins of West Haven, Melissa (Gary) Smith of Trenton, NJ, DeLancey Jenkins of New Haven, Alpha (David) Patrick of West Haven & the late Ralph Jenkins Jr; twin brother of Richard & brother of Ruth, Arnold 'Bud'& Walter Coley, Vera Phillip, Thelma Artis & the late Elmer Coley, Rebecca Tatum & Shirley Ingram. Hazel also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews & brother & sister in-laws. Hazel was a retired machinist & driver for Pratt & Whitney Co. in North Haven and until his illness he was employed at Barnes & Noble Book Store in Canton. He previously owned & operated H & D Livery Service. Relatives & friends may visit with his family at BEECHER & BENNETT -TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME- 410 Campbell Ave. West Haven on Monday, March 9, 2009 from 8 to 11 AM and may attend his funeral service at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven.
