Helen D. Yankowski Townley, 91, formerly of West Haven passed away February 24, 2014 in Hamden, wife of the late Norman G. Townley, Sr. Helen was born in New Haven, May 28, 1922 a daughter of the late Dominic & Agnes Zaronka Yankowski. She is survived by her sons, Gary Townley & his wife Mary Ann of West Haven, Robert Townley & his wife Mary of Hamden & Norman G. Townley, Jr. & his wife Denise of Hamden, step-mother of Eleanor Douglas, also survived by 4 step-grandchildren & several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Julie Hughes, Frances Hill, Beryl Callahan, Della & Anna Kasperwich, Mary Burke, brothers, Anthony Yankowski and Peter Kasperwich. She was a receptionist at the Bilco Co. of West Haven for 20 years and retired in 1987. Friends & relatives may visit with her family at BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven, Thursday morning from 9 to10:30 a.m. and may attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, West Haven. Interment will follow at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
