Helen E. Tolmei
Helen E. Tolmei, 90, of Branford, wife of the late Peter Tolmei, passed away at CT Hospice on August 14, 2009. She was born in New Haven on September 29, 1918 to the late Adam and Rosalind O'Brien Cywinski. Helen leaves her son Peter Tolmei of East Haven; grandchildren, Vanessa Doheny and her husband Thomas, Jr. of East Haven, Peter Tolmei and his wife Melanie of East Haven; great grandchildren, Alannah Doheny, Peter and Boston Tolmei all of East Haven. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Shirley Tolmei. Helen started off her waitressing career at Studio 54 in New York City before working at Casey's and Tivoli Restaurant in New Haven. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Vincent De Paul Church in East Haven on Tuesday, August 18th at 9:30 a.m. followed by burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Helen's memory may be sent to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
