Guestbook

  1. Helen was such a delightful grand dame! She will be missed by many here at Hamden Rehab and Healthcare Center. She enjoyed her morning paper, make up, family visits, the red hatters, bingo, Sunday communion and oil painting. Hope you cherish her paintings she painted for her family. My condolences to all. There’s a new angel in heaven!

  2. I was truly sorry to hear of Helen’s passing. Thank you so much for sending her obituary. Helen and I kept in touch for over 60 years. I have fond memories of all our good times together and enjoyed many years of corresponding ever since. She was a wonderful person and I shall truly miss hearing from her. My heart-felt condolences to the family.

  3. My sincerest sympathies to Charles, John & David & their families on the passing of Helen McNamara McClean Mitchell; their mom and my childhood friend. I received a copy of the obit, but was in Virginia with my daughter at the time Helen passed. My fondest memories of Helen living in her grandfather’s house on 2165 Whitney Ave with her parents, aunts & uncles as well as grandfather, Anton Dukat. We played together with my sis, Wanda who was a week younger than Helen. I am 90 and was the oldest. We had many wonderful simple times. The entire family was very dear & kind. Our parents were great friends. We moved to Waterbury in 1938… I am happy I visited Helen this March around her birthday, & we kept in touch all these years, & our children met each other when they were young. I tried calling John so I could find out about her passing, but got a recording…I will try again.
