Helen Elizabeth Hitchcock, a.k.a. ''Nellie O'Brien'', 97, of 48 Center Rd., Woodbridge, wife of the late William Hitchcock, entered into rest November 30, 2004 at the Connecticut Hospice. She was born in New Haven Dec. 2, 1906, a daughter of the late Dennis and Lottie W. O'Brien. Mother of Alicia Anita Hitchcock of Woodbridge, CT, Robert Edward Hitchcock and his wife, Catherine Hitchcock of New Haven. Grandmother of William Grant Baumgartner of Cleveland Heights, OH, John Robert Baumgartner of Cleveland, OH, Elizabeth Hope Baumgartner of Laconia, NH, and Bruce Edward Hitchcock of Bethany. Also survived by 4 great-grandchildren. Sister of Kenneth Chatfield of NC and aunt of Grace Scott of Alburquerque, NM. She was predeceased by two granddaughters, Sandra Alma Hitchcock and Kimberly Ann Hitchcock, two sisters, Lois Flanders and Elizabeth Stevens, and two brothers, Frederick and John Chatfield. Helen was a member of the First Church of Christ, Woodbridge, a member of the Woodbridge Senior Center, and a 69 year member of the Woodbridge Grange. Funeral service Wednesday, December 8 at 1 p.m. at the First Church of Christ, Woodbridge. Burial in East Side Cemetery. Arrangments in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
