Helen Nitido Davey
In CT Hospice, May 25, 2004, Helen Nitido Davey, 82 of 111 South Shore Dr., East Haven, wife of the late Howard Davey, mother of Susan Davey of North Branford, Janet Galante of Pomfret, CT, Arthur Davey and William Davey both of West Haven, sister of Vincent Nitido of West Haven, loving grandmother of Seth Howard, Carlo, Emily Helen and Hannah and Godmother of Karen Chamberlin. She was predeceased by brothers, Alfred, Robert and Arthur Nitido. Helen was born in West Haven, Sept. 6, 1921, daughter of the late Vincent and Mary Fazzina Nitido. She was a graduate of New Haven State Teachers College and was a teacher for the West Haven School System for 35 years and retired in 1984. She was a lifelong member of Christ Episcopal Church in West Haven where she served on the Altar Guild, a member of Eastern Star Golden Rod Chapter # 34 of West Haven and a member of the Retired Teachers Assoc. Funeral service Friday, May 28 at 10 a.m. at Christ Church, West Haven. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven, Thurs. from 4 - 8 p.m. Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. Dear Art, Bill, Sue, Janet and family, My mother just called to tell me about Helen yesterday. What a loss, she was such a special lady. I\’ve shared countless Christmas cards with her over the years, and was so glad to see and talk to her at Easter time. How she beamed when we talked about her grandchildren!
