Henrietta A. Werner

Henrietta A. Werner, age 96, of Cheshire, passed away July 1, 2012. Henrietta was the widow of Edward A. Werner. Born in NYC, NY on May 18, 1916, she was a daughter of the late William H. & Josephine Will Hagmaier. Henrietta is survived by her daughters, Marie Werner Scharf & her husband Al of Wallingford and Laurena Werner & her husband Keith Goble of Fairfield, OH; her granddaughters, Erika Marie Burk of Fairfield, OH and Stacie Scharf Davis & her husband Chris of Spring Lake, NJ and her great grandson C.J. Davis. She was predeceased by her sister Marie Anderson. Prior to moving to Elim Park in Cheshire in 1995 Henrietta lived in Mineola L.I.N.Y. for over 50 years. There she was the manager of the J. W. Pantel Trucking Co, from 1945 to 1979. She later worked at Times Square Stores, manager of Linens & Fabrics for 15 years. She was a member of the B.P.O.E. # 1485 Ladies Auxiliary of Hempstead, L.I.N.Y., a librarian at St. Aiden's R.C. School in Williston Park, NY for 8 years and a parishioner of St. Thomas Becket Church in Cheshire since 1995. She much enjoyed her years at Elim Park and did many hours of volunteering there. Friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 North Brooksvale Road, Cheshire. Her interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Queens, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Elim Park Residence Benevolent Fund, 150 Cook Hill Rd, Cheshire, CT 06410. Arrangements are in care of BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
