MERIDEN - Henry F. Ficken, Jr., 84, formerly of 224 Sunset Ave., died Saturday, May 21, at Saybrook Convalescent Home. He was born April 29, 1921 in Meriden a son of the late Henry and Johanna (Hackbarth) Ficken Sr. He was employed at New Departure in quality control until his retirement and was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. He served his country during World War II in the U.S.Marine Corp.He is survived by two daughters; Linda Ficken of Westbrook, CT and Gail West of Fair Haven, VT, four grandchildren, Michael Ficken of Westbrook, Shelly Becker of Vermont, and Nicole and Jesse West of Fair Haven, VT, a great- granchild, Jesse West of Vermont, and a brother, Robert Ficken of Valparaiso, Indiana. He was predeceased by two sons; Robert and Thomas Ficken. Funeral services were private. Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden were in charge of the arrangements.

  1. Dear Gail, I saw your dad’s obituary in the paper and had to send you a note. I am so very sorry for your loss. I have thought of you and your family over the years and hope you remember some of the good times we had when we were very much younger.
