In New Haven, Oct. 4, 2003, Herbert W. Johnson of New Haven Ave., Orange, husband of the late Charlotte Smith Johnson, father of Linda Trudeau of Whitefield, NH, Susan Johnson of Orange and Martin W. Johnson of Killingworth, brother of Dorothy Root of Wallingford and the late Kenneth and Richard Johnson. Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was born in New Haven, Aug. 31, 1922 a son of the late Wallace and Ruby Sharp Johnson. He served as a Corporal in the US Army during WW II. He was a supervisor of the stockroom at Stone Safety Electrical Co. where he worked for 23 years and retired in 1988. He was a resident of Orange since 1946 and was a member of the New Haven County Pomona-State Grange, American Legion Post 127 of Orange and a 75 year member of the Woodbridge Grange. Funeral service Wed., Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. at the First Church of Christ, Woodbridge. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNET TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven, Tuesday (TODAY) from 5 - 8 p.m.
