Ingeborg Christiane Gross

GROSS, INGEBORG C. In Hamden, November 23, 2001, Ingeborg Christiane Gross, 92, of 200 Leeder Hill Rd., wife of the late Dr. Alfred Gross. She was born April 13, 1909 in Berlin, Germany. Married to Dr. Gross in 1933, she lived in Milan, Italy, Manchester and London, England during World War II. The family emigrated to the U.S. in 1947, where Dr. Gross taught at the Menninger Foundation in Topeka, Kansas and later at Yale University. Ingeborg was a devoted mother and after the death of her husband she was a lecturer in the German language at Yale from 1958 to 1976. She is survived by three sons: Andrew Gross of San Francisco, CA, Peter Gross of Deep River, CT and David Gross of Killingworth and his two children: Alyson and Evan. A private service of interment will be held in Grove Street Cemetery. Arrangements with BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN.
