EAST HAVEN - Irene 'Rene' Frances Jamieson, 86, of 7 Harmac Drive, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 5, 2010 in Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the wife of the late Henry 'Harry' Nixon Jamieson. Irene was born in Islington, London, England on February 26, 1924 to the late John and Elsie (Yare) Capon. She was predeceased by two sisters, Doris and Peggy Capon, both of Islington, London, England. Irene is survived by a son, Keith Scott Jamieson and his wife Leslie (Sellner) Jamieson of Branford, a daughter, Irene Ann Jamieson of Durham and New York City, a grandson, Christopher David Jamieson, of East Haven, and a brother John Capon of Islington, London, England. Irene immigrated to the United States along with her children in April of 1958, residing in New Haven until 1966, when the family moved to East Haven. 'Rene', was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She kept an orderly, nurturing, and welcoming home where she raised both her children, and grandson; and spoiled her beloved cat Pepper. She was also a dedicated employee of the Edward Malley Company for a few years.'Rene', was very supportive of family and friends, always extending a helping hand when needed. She also enjoyed traveling the States and Canada; all day shopping excursions; and frequent trips to the Casinos to play the slots. Her inner strength; boundless energy; quick wit; and truly unique character will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service to celebrate 'Rene's' life will be held at a time and place to be announced after the New Year. Services in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.
