Isaac C. Crooms, Jr. SOUTHINGTON - Isaac C. "Junebug" Crooms, Jr., 55, of 328 Hobart St., Southington, died suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007. He was the husband of Susan Brennan Crooms. Born in Meriden on May 8, 1952, he was the son of Earlene Crooms of Meriden and the late Isaac C. Crooms, Sr. He attended Meriden schools and Quinnipiac College in Hamden and worked at Metallurgical Processing, Inc. He was an avid lead singer for many years for Great Train Robbery, Full Blast and most recently TL & the All-Stars. He was loved by all and will be truly missed. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by three sons, Joshua Crooms of East Hartford, Jordan Crooms of Southington and Tyler Crooms of Southington; a grandson, Josiah Crooms; three sisters, Delilah Crooms of Meriden, Rose and her husband, Edward Green Jr. of Meriden and Melinda and her husband, Stanley Howell of Meriden; a brother-in-law, William Brennan of Southington; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Crooms of Meriden and Donna Brennan of Southington; four aunts, Helen Freeman, Melinda Richard and Vernice Wimberly, all of Florida and Nora Mae Hill of North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, greatnieces and greatnephews, cousins and special friends He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Jeffrey Crooms. The funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 62 Colony St., Meriden. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.

  2. I was so sad to hear about Issac. Issac was loved by all who knew him. I remember him from school & how he always teased me! He was quite a character. I will miss him & always remember him. I have crossed his family’s path so many times in my live with Rosie in high school,Jeffery’s band at Hubbard Park, working with Sharon at K-mart,working with Celeste at the library & spending time with the girls & meeting more of the family. Please know my thoughts are with all of you and I will pray for you. At this hard time just remember he will always be in your heart forever, with lots of memories. We were all blessed to know him.   4. Junebug was a beautiful soul. The last time I spoke with him he shared with me his love for me and his entire family. I love him for giving me this sweet memory. He touched my heart that night.   6. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Isaac, especially my cousing Susan Margaret and their boys. Isaac was a warm and loving presence at our family gatherings. I will always remember those qualities and his love for his family.
