MERIDEN-Jacqueline ''Jackie'' M. Silverstein, 58, of 56 Somer Drive, South Meriden, died Monday, June 18, 2001 at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of David Silverstein. She was born in Albany, CA on April 17, 1943, a daughter of the late LaVern and Naomi Gladson Turner. Jackie had worked for many years as a customer service representative at both Caldor's and K-Mart. She was a member of the Durham Coginchuggers Square Dance Club and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter and her husband, Linda and Michael Langner of South Meriden; a son and his wife, Keith and Paula Barton of Marlborough, CT; a step-daughter, Diana LaPiene of South Meriden; two sisters, Shirley Stewart of Springville, CA and Jolyce Hardesty of Pinole, CA; a brother, David Turner of Vacaville, CA; four grandchildren, Jenna and Steven Barton, both of Marlborough and Justin and Kelsey Langner, both of South Meriden; several nieces and nephews; and good friends, Vera and Al Luft of Meriden and Joan and Frank Gumkowski of Wallingford. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 164 Hanover St., Meriden. The Rev. Perry L. Beaver will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
