James Anthony Mormile, 61, of Lansdowne Ave., Hamden, husband of 27 years to Mary Shine Mormile passed away suddenly at his home June 22, 2011. He was the father of James Francis Mormile and Brendan William Mormile both of Hamden. James was born in Fredericksburg, VA, July 25, 1949 a son of the late James Francis and Phyllis Diana Mormile. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and the University of New Haven receiving a degree in electrical engineering in 1971. He was a member of the Branford Yacht Club and Captain of 'MoreMagic' out of Branford. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden on Saturday, June 25 at 9 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita Church at 9:30 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 8 – 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to Notre Dame High School, 24 Ricardo St., West Haven, CT 06516.

We were really looking forward to the upcoming Frers 33 Nationals, matching up with Jim. He will be greatly missed on the Wednesday races and parties. We are so sorry for your loss.   15. Mary: Just got the email from Joyce. I am just so so sorry. George passed away on May 19th, so we are all just getting over that. I wish I could give you more solace. I was laid off from that job in Shelton, so I am back to square 1 again. That is why I did not followup with you guys. But I guess it is events like these that put things in perspective. Jim was still on the race course on his boat MORE MAGIC on the evening of last Wednesday, June 22, braving a dark sky and a misty sea.
