Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. The Board, Staff, and Musicians of the New Haven Symphony express their sympathy to Jim’s friend and family. The English family have been involved with your Symphony since its inception. Henry Fowler English was among our original Guarantors and his daughter-in-law Katherine Dana English was a leader in our Ladies Auxiliary. Her sons Richard and Jim became our greatest benefactors. With Jim’s passing, we sadly mark the end of an era.

  2. Sorry to hear the news. James was a quiet man, as I remember him, at our events
but he was always first to get dessert at the Winter Solstice dinners!
Sincerely, Al Washburn, past President … Astronomical Society of New Haven

  3. Sorry to hear of the Loss of Jim English. I met Jim & Richard English through my Godmother Vanetta Lloyd over 15 years ago. Both brothers were kind and soft spoken men. Jim hung onto life cause Jim was a fighter for all things, an he had a Beautiful and willing caretaker who cared for Jim for 30 years, Vanetta Lloyd. So Vanetta I kno you will miss Jim but God knew best
