Curtis, James H. At his home, Sept. 23, 2001, James H. Curtis, 62, of 65 Dwight St., New Haven, husband of Louise Pires Curtis, father of Darlene Pullen, Kristine McElya, James H. Curtis IV, Danny Curtis all of New Haven, Denise Allen of Danville, VA, Tony Curtis of Springfield, MA, stepfather of Kathy Rogers of New Haven and Domingo Rogers of West Haven, brother of Lucille Williams of New Haven, Ruth Ford of Wallingford and Albert H. Curtis of Hamden. Also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia Curtis and a brother, Arthur Watson. He was born in New Haven, March 31, 1939 a son of the late James H. & Alberta Brown Curtis, Jr. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and in the 1950's he sang with the singing group The Five Satins. He was the chef supervisor at the University of New Haven and had been a chef at the former Park Plaza Hotel. Funeral service Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001 at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven at 9 a.m. Friends may call Wed. from 8 - 9 a.m. Interment in Evergreen Cemtery.
