James Joseph Barbato, Sr, 80, beloved husband of Mary Teresa Nicoletta Barbato of 55 years passed away Nov. 27, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Barbato was born in New Haven February 4, 1928 a son of the late James J. and Lillian Proto Barbato and was a long time Cheshire resident. He was the proprieter of the College Highway Package Store in Cheshire for many years and prior to that he owned Jimmies Submarines in Hamden and ran the Rose Dairy in Cheshire with brother Albert. James also served in the US Navy for 2 years. In addition to his wife he is survived by three loving daughters, Donna B. Isenstadt of Hamden, Linda M. Sullivan of Cheshire, Lillian Beebe of Clinton, AK, a son James J. Barbato of Cheshire. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Deana, Adrian, & Adam Duka of Cheshire, Hilary and Matthew Isenstadt of Hamden, James, Joshua, & Marisa Barbato of Cheshire. He was predeceased by his brother Albert Barbato. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT 2300 WHITNEY AVE HAMDEN Monday morning Dec. 1, at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10 am. Friends may call Sunday from 4-7pm. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
