James Reed
James Reed, 84, of Prospect St., New Haven, passed away June 20, 2014. Father of Robin Reed and Tyrone Reed, both of Boston, MA. Grandfather of Tyrone Reed, Jr., Rachaud Reed, Aquene Reed and Adnike John, great- grandfather of Ida-Sofia, Jose, Sadie Lucia, Meelcha and JJ Reed. James was employed at Yale University Divinity School Building and Grounds Dept. for over 30 years before retiring in 1994. He attended St. Mary's Church and enjoyed gardening and cycling. He had resided in New Haven for 67 years. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service of interment in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven on Tuesday, June 24, at 2 pm. Arrangements in care of BEECHER & BENNETT 2300 WHITNEY AVE. HAMDEN.
I met Mr. Reed 35 years ago while working at Yale. He became a good friend to me. He was a generous, caring, delightful person. I will miss him. He always made me laugh. Most people don’t know of all the wonderful things he did for others less fortunate. He was a lovely man.
