Jane L. Frankforter

Jane Lois Voos Frankforter, 88, of North Haven passed away on September 19, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of John H. Frankforter, Sr. Jane was born on February 28, 1929 in her family home in Hamden, daughter of the late Carl and Johanna Ploehn Voos. She grew up in Hamden and graduated from Hamden High School in 1946. Jane loved dance and studied ballet with Madam Annette for over 10 years which included numerous performances at the Shubert in New Haven. She attended Cazenovia Junior College, Syracuse University and Southern CT State University. She obtained her degree in early childhood education and went on to be an elementary school teacher in Hamden and Wallingford. In her later years she enjoyed volunteering in the classrooms of Ridge Road Elementary School in North Haven. Jane was the mother of John (Diana) Frankforter, Lois Frankforter (Mark Rademacher), Kim Frankforter, and Tami Frankforter (Edward Edelman); and grandmother of Samantha Edelman, Sara Rademacher, Noah Frankforter, Matthew Rademacher, and Avery Frankforter. She was predeceased by her siblings Eunice Voos Miller, Audrey Voos Christofferson Kasack, Carlton E. Voos, and Raymond P. Voos, Sr. Private funeral services have been entrusted to Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Memorial donations in Jane’s name may be made to Susan G.
