Jane Madigan Kelly, age 79, of Hamden, formerly of West Haven, passed away on May 15, 2012 at Conn. Hospice in Branford. Jane was born in New Haven on July 10, 1932, a daughter of the late Alfred Francis & Loretta Wood Madigan. Jane was predeceased by her son, Michael Kelly; her brother Robert Madigan and her sister Rosemary Madigan. She will be dearly missed as she is survived by her beloved family including her sisters, Carol Kleffke & Grace Madigan both of Hamden; her niece Beth Navickis & her husband Charles & their children Leah & Lindsay Navickis; her nephew Bruce Kleffke & his wife Mary & their children Sarah, Hannah & Abbey Kleffke and many other nieces & nephews & great nieces & nephews. Jane retired from Southern New England Telephone Company after over 25 years of employment. She was an avid traveler, enjoying yoga, walking, reading, skiing and the times she spent with her family at Trapp Lodge in Vermont. She was Co-President of the New Haven Woman's Club, a volunteer for over 10 years at the Ronald McDonald House and former volunteer with the Hamden School System in their Literacy Program. Friends may visit with her family on Saturday, May 19th from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden and may attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. In lieu of flowers contributions in Jane's memory may be made to the New Haven Woman's Club, c/o Pauline Mower, 56 Jones Rd, Hamden, CT 06514 or to CT Hospice Inc, 100 Double Beach Rd, Branford, CT 06405.
