HAMDEN-Janice Marenholz, 88, beloved wife of the late Richard O. Marenholz, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 3rd. She was the loving mother of John R. Marenholz and his wife, Carol (Hawken) Marenholz, of Hamden, and adoring grandmother of Adam Marenholz. She was predeceased by her devoted sister, Beverly Knodel Clark, formerly of Cheshire. Janice was born in New Haven on February 23, 1929, a daughter of the late Henry J. and Beatrice Burnard Knodel, and was a lifelong resident of Hamden. Mrs. Marenholz was employed at Amtrak Railroad as a secretary until her retirement in 1994. She was a parishioner and member of the Altar Guild of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in New Haven and a longtime volunteer at the Barn Sale in Hamden. The family would like to thank the staff at the Clare Bridge Unit of Brookdale, and Compassus. Arrangements in care of Beecher & Bennett, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial in Mt. Carmel Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be sent to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 830 Whitney Ave., New Haven, CT 06511.
