Jayne Anne Carroll Morley, of North Haven, CT, previously of Hamden, CT and Warwick, RI, died on Friday, December 14, 2007. She was born on October 11, 1927 to Robert J. and Theresa Burke Carroll in Cranston, RI. Jayne was married to the late Edward (Ned) F. Morley. She leaves five sons and two daughters: Stephen Franklyn Morley and friend Julia Parker; Gretchen J. Callahan and her husband Bob of Hamden; Christopher E. Morley and his wife Beth, of Branford, CT; Michelle C. Martinecz, and her husband Joe, of Cheshire, CT; Edward A. Morley, and his wife Betsy of North Haven; David M. Morley, and his wife Michelle, of Hamden; and Kurt F. Morley, and his wife Jennifer, of Bridgeport, CT. Her oldest daughter, Kristin Zittel, of Portland, ME, and her sister Marilyn Schleck, of Madison, CT., predeceased Jayne. Several loving cousins, nieces and nephews, as well as the following fifteen grandchildren survive her: Samuel E. Morley, Christopher, Rory, Chelsea and Conor Callahan, Samuel and Jack Morley, Molly and George Martinecz, Ned and Brendan Morley, Aeden, Ryan and Keon Morley, and Amelia Morley. Jayne graduated from Elmhurst, Convent of the Sacred Heart in Portsmouth, RI; Edgewood Park of Briarcliff Manor, NY, The Garland School, Boston, MA and The Katherine Gibbs School of Providence, RI. Following college, she worked for the telephone company in Providence, RI, during her courtship by Ned Morley, of New Haven, CT. After raising her eight children, Jayne became President of Resco, Inc., of New Haven, and after the sale of that business, General Manager of Morley Associates, Inc., of Branford. She also worked as a real estate agent for Kamp and Neilsen, of Hamden. Jayne belonged to the New Haven Country Club for many years, where she enjoyed bridge, paddle tennis, and golf. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in The Church of Saint Rita, 1620 Whitney Ave., Hamden, on Thurs., Dec. 20th at 10 am; interment at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call Wed. from 4 - 7 pm at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Contributions in Jayne's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
