Jean Susan Link, 63, of New Haven, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at CT Hospice, Branford. Jean was born in New Haven, April 6, 1948 daughter of the late Robert Chandler and Ruth Eleanor Kenney Link. She was P.P.T. Chairperson and teacher at the Hill Central School, New Haven for 10 years. Prior to teaching there, Jean taught at the Children Center, Hamden, teacher to special education children. She got her Undergraduate Degree from Wesleyan University and Master's Degree in Special Education from S.C.S.U. She was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the Waves. Jean was a member of the First & Summerfield United Methodist Church, New Haven. She is survived by her sister, Joan E. Burns of New Haven; nephews, David C. & his wife Michelle Burns, Paul E. & his wife Cynthia Burns and Michael R. Burns; a grandniece, Sarah E. Burns; grandnephews, Michael R. Burns, Jr. and Zachary Burns and a great-grand-nephew, Lucas Doiron. Jean also leaves her best friend of 50 years, Barbara Walczak. A Memorial Service will be held at the First & Summerfield United Methodist Church on August 14, 2011 at 3:00 PM. Church parking is available in the Yale Lot located behind the church with it's entrance on Temple Street. Interment was held privately. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to First & Summerfield United Methodist Church, Memorial Fund, 425 College St, New Haven, CT 06511. Arrangements in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden.
