Jean T. Copeland

Jean T. Copeland, 85, beloved wife of the late Arthur S. Copeland of Howard Dr., Hamden passed away May 7, 2012. She was born in Jersey City NJ, July 1, 1926, daughter of the late Robert B. and Eva Poole Shand and had resided in Hamden since 1963. Jean graduated from the Jersey City Hospital School of Nursing as an RN in 1944 and was a private duty nurse in the Hospital of St. Raphael and Yale NH Hospital prior to her retirement in 1994. She was a long time active member at the Dunbar United Church, having served on the New Haven Committee of Ministry, and the Women's Fellowship. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Mark D. (Laura) Copeland of Wallingford, Lynn C. (Michael) Robillard of Meriden, Robin E. (Ray) Perkins of New London, Craig S. (Dawn) Copeland of Hamden. Mrs. Copeland is also survived by her grandchildren Erik (Kate) Copeland, Christi Copeland, Stacy & Tim Robillard, John, Jason & Tyler Perkins, AJ, Bekah & Oliver Copeland, and her brother Robert (Eileen) Shand of Barnegat, NJ. She was predeceased by a grandson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Thursday, May 10 at 10:30 am in the Dunbar United Church. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
