Jeanne Katherine Price Johnson, 94, wife of the late John Henry Johnson, died Monday, January 19, 2009 in New Haven. Mrs. Johnson is survived by daughters Jeanne J. Hogan and Jacquelyn J. Vaughn, both of New Haven, Judith Hilton of Hamden, sons John Henry Johnson, Jr. (Jennifer) of Peabody, MA, and Jeffrey A. Johnson (Talny) of Englewood, NJ. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by sisters Virginia Moore, Georgine Fader, Rosa Price, Lois 'Dot' Johnston, Marion Parris, Hazel Jennings, and Frances Roberson, and sons-in-law Theodore F. Hogan, Jr. and Raymond Hilton. Mrs. Johnson was born in Hamden April 27, 1914, daughter of the late George Price and Rose Ann Smith Price. She was employed by the New Haven School System as a Teacher's Aide for Roger Sherman Elementary school for 20 years. She was a life long member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and served on the St. Thomas and St. Luke's Guild. Funeral service Wednesday, January 28 at 10:30 AM at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, New Haven. Friends may visit with the family at church from 9 to 10:30 AM. Interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. Memorial Contributions in Mrs. Johnson's memory may be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 111 Whalley Ave., New Haven. Arrangements under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven.
