Our beautiful Jessica Maria Cartier (Ravizza), born February 10, 1982 in Meriden, CT, departed this world peacefully early morning December 3, 2018 surrounded by family and husband Chad Cartier. Jessie was the loving daughter of Maria A. Griffith of Meriden and Thomas Ravizza of Branford, stepdaughter of Scott Griffith and Maria Gargamelli, and daughter-in-law of Mark and Gay Lynn Cartier of NH. She is also survived by her loving brother Gabriel C. Ravizza (Stephanie Donahue), step siblings Jackie, Mark (Erica), and Michael (Maria) Tamsin, brother-in-law Cory (Lauren) Cartier and sister-in-law Amber (Murphy) Aquaro. She also leaves many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her memere, both in the U.S. and Spain. Jessie was predeceased by her grandparents Juan Carretero Martinez and Maria Antonia Fernandez Tobaruela and Thomas and Jenny Ravizza, and her best friend Jamie Gardner. Jessica was a lifelong resident of Meriden and '00 Platt High School graduate where she was a 4 year cheerleader. She also attended CCSU and was a part of the Blue Devil's squad. Jessie was truly a treasure to all who knew and loved her. Despite being born with Cystic Fibrosis, Jessie never let her illness define her. With the heart of a lion, she underwent a double lung transplant in 2010 and with new life met her soul mate, Chad Cartier, whom she married on September 8, 2012. Chad and Jessie enjoyed a wonderful life together with their cats Tinkerbell and Lola. Jessie was an active member of her church. Her heart for music was one of the talents God gave her. She played guitar, piano and sang with her worship group, and enjoyed performing and singing at area nursing homes with her band, Shine. Jessie will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched with her Faith in God, strength, beauty, and grace. A service celebrating Jessica's life will be held on Saturday Dec. 8, 2018 at 10am at New Life Church, 350 High Hill Rd. Wallingford, CT 06492. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meriden. Visiting hours will take place on THURSDAY DEC. 6 FROM 5-8PM at New Life Church, Wallingford.     What an honor it has been to have known and cared for Jessica these last 10 years. She was a true warrior with a heart of gold. I had the pleasure of cheerleading with Jessica at CCSU and I will always remember her as an enthusiastic, cheerful and positive person who never stopped smiling and truly enjoyed her time on the cheerleading squad and on this Earth. My thoughts are with her family and friends as you all celebrate her life and say your goodbyes. May she rest in peace.
