Joan M. Foote

Joan M. Foote, 80, wife of the late Russell Foote, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. She was born October 30, 1934 in New Haven, daughter of the late Jaques and Pearl (Bennett) LeRoy, and grew up in Hamden. Joan was employed at Napier Co. and was dedicated to the protection of animals. She is survived by a daughter, Dawn O'Neill, and her partner Barbara Boucher, of Maine; a son, Ralph Milum of Meriden; three grandchildren, Brian Holland, Kelly O'Neal and husband John, and Michael Milum and wife Madison; three great-grandchildren, Kamdyn and Payton Holland and Bayleen O'Neal; and a brother, Robert LeRoy of California. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Karen Milum. A memorial gathering honoring both Joan and Russell will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 2-4 pm at the Jensen's Beechwood Park Club House, 20 Swan Lake Tr., Killingworth, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Forgotten Felines Animal Shelter, 153 Horse Hill Rd., Westbrook, CT 06498 or given online at www.forgottenfelinesct.org.
