Joanne Therese (Pawlikowski) Blair
Joanne Therese (Pawlikowski) Blair, 79, of Hamden, passed away at CT Hospice on July 25, 2015 with family by her side. Born in New Haven on October 27, 1935 to the late Frank Pawlikowski and A. Esther Romanik Pawlikowski Reiber. Joanne was the beloved wife of Edward Blair of Hamden; mother of, Karen (George III) Jahn of Hamden, Sharon (Dean) Cerasoli of North Haven, Michelle Blair (Allison Butterfield) of Marlborough, MA, Edward T. Blair, Jr of Jupiter, FL; grandmother of, Elizabeth, Stephen (Kimberly), & George Jahn IV, Kyle & Tucker Ahlers, Benjamin & Emily Cerasoli; sister of F. William (Patricia) Pawlikowski, step-sister of, Barbara & Carl Reiber; mother-in-law of, Jerry Petri. Joanne was predeceased by her daughter, Cynthia Blair; brother, Robert Pawlikowski; step-father, Carl F. Reiber. A graduate of Wilbur Cross High School Joanne received a B.A. from Albertus Magnus and a Master's degree from Southern Connecticut State University. She was a Juvenile Probation Officer for the State of Connecticut for over 20 years. In her retirement she was a reading tutor volunteer in several area programs. She had a variety of interests, including religion, politics, concerts, live theater, playing bridge, gardening, daily walking, hiking, and cross country skiing. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Above all, she was especially proud of and loved her children and grandchildren. Friends are invited to visit with her family on Thursday, July 30th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. A Memorial Mass will be Celebrated on Friday Morning at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stephen's Church. Burial will be private. My condolences to the Blair family, she was a wonderful intelligent women who loved her famiy dearly.The success of her children and grandchildren is due to the love and faith that she had.I am sure she faught this disease until the end.
Sherry and I went to SHA together and I spent many days hanging out at the backyard pool.
