It is with great sadness that the family of John “Jack” Spencer Anthony, of Orange, announces his passing on Sunday, January 28, 2018 after a brief illness. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Loretta, his children, Julie (Jered), Peter “Chip” (Amanda), and Adele (Danny), and his dear sister Kathy Anthony Sperry. Jack will also be fondly remembered as “Pop Pop” by his seven grandchildren, Brianna, Jaron, Victoria, Christian, Judson, Thomas, and Jericho. Jack will be forever remembered by many extended family members and friends. After retirement from Pitney Bowes he continued to work part-time at Lowe’s in Milford and for the Board of Education in Orange. Jack served in leadership for Boy Scout Troop 921 in Orange, as well as coach and equipment manager for Orange Little League. He also served as an usher at Trinity Church in Woodbridge for a number of years. Jack loved gardening, tractor rides with his grandchildren, following NASCAR, and spending time with his family. Calling hours will be held from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, January 31, at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden CT with a Memorial Service to follow at 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack can be made to Calvary Chapel Naugatuck; all proceeds will benefit Teen Challenge New Haven.   1. I am extending my condolences to the Anthony family. While I have not ever met Jack, I learned so much about him through my chats with my co-worker Kathy. She always spoke so highly of Jack and shared with me, many family photos which are proudly displayed in her office along with the many stories, all of which equate to Love. During this time of loss and sorrow, I encourage you to focus on the good time, the great times, and the funny times. As there are many that you have of your loved father, husband, brother and .Pop Pol.. To God be the glory!

  7. I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with John for 5 years on weekends at Lowe’s and he was just a great man. We would joke about things all the time and I know that I will miss him a lot. My prayers go out to you and your family.
