John W. Sullivan, 94, husband of the late Clarice Fitton Sullivan passed away Friday Nov. 12, 2010 in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born in New Haven September 15, 1916 a son of the late Patrick and Elizabeth Finnagan Sullivan and had resided in Hamden and West Haven before moving to South Carolina. Mr. Sullivan was employed by the CT Transit Co. as a bus driver for 38 years prior to his retirement in 1972. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, New Haven, and a life long member of the V.F.W. Post #10321 of Hamden. He is survived by two daughters Diane Passeri of West Haven, Kathleen Higgins of Sayville, NY, two sons, Barry J. Sullivan of Murrells Inlet, SC, Brian Sullivan of Myrtle Beach, SC, two brothers Edward Sullivan and Gerald Sullivan both of Wallingford, and 9 loving grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was predeceased by his son Vincent Sullivan, a sister Elizabeth McGreavy, and a brother James Sullivan. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 WHITNEY AVE., HAMDEN, Wednesday morning Nov. 17, at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church at 10 a.m. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery.
