Jose T. Calvo

Jose T. Calvo, age 90, passed away January 10, 2024 at Bel Air Manor in Newington, CT. Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on September 17, 1933, he was a son of the late Marciela Torres. Jose is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Audrey A. (O’Brien) Calvo; his son Joseph Calvo of Newington; daughters Sonia Torres, Judy Torres, and Angel Torres, all of Puerto Rico, and Tammie Morrison of New Hampshire; grandchildren Jason and Dionna Calvo, Adam and Aaron Kulo, both of New Hampshire; great-grandchildren Gabriel Calvo, Mya and Ryan Kulo; brothers Jorge Rosa, Eddie Torres, and Sergio Salas, and his sister Mary Alonzo. Jose had been a resident of Meriden since 1957. He worked for the Operating Engineers Union Local 478 for many years, He started his employment there as a laborer and retired as a heavy equipment operator.
Friends may visit with Jose’s family on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Beecher & Bennett – Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. His burial will be at a later date in Puerto Rico.
