Joseph Leonard Connolly, Jr.
Joseph Leonard Connolly Jr., of Fairy Glen Dr., North Haven, passed away on January 11, 2012 at the Masonicare Health Care Center. Connolly (Donna) of Colchester; brother, Kevin Connolly of Mashpee, MA; and his adoring grandchildren, Rebecca and Erin Connolly. Joe was a caring spirit, and was very active in the community as a volunteer and supporter of the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry and Clothes Closet at the Episcopal Church of St. Paul and St. James in New Haven. His love of animals - from chipmunks to horses - was unbounded, and some of his happiest times were spent with his children in the pasture with their horses. To Joe’s family: I am so sorry for your loss. I grew up living next door to Joe and Kevin and we spent many days in each others houses, walking to school together and just having fun. He was always a good friend to me and sort of a big brother. May you find peace in remembering his love for family and friends and his love for life.
Joe was a member of our extended family long before I was born. I will always remember him with a big, mischievous smile on his face. That smile was the gateway to a gentle and loving soul. He was a man whose love for his family spread far beyond Andrea, Chris & Bess. He has touched all of our lives and we are poorer for his passing. But he leaves his legacy in each of us and in the way that our lives are better for knowing him. He will be missed. Our love and prayers are with the whole family.
He has been a vital part of my life since high school, and I will miss him keenly. Amazing memories, friends and family will sustain us all as we deal with the huge hole his passing has left.
My deepest sympathies to Joe’s family at this time of grief and I pray that God will comfort you.
Sorry for your loss. Our loss also. Frank & Penny (Davidson)
