Joseph Robert ''Bob'' Hildrich, 84, of 22 Masonic Ave., Wallingford, formerly of West Haven passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2004 at MidState Hospital, Meriden. He was the husband of the late Mary Adelaide Cox Hildrich. Born in Bronx, NY, Feb. 2, 1919, son of the late Joseph Charles and Alma Pierce Hildrich. He was a Electronic Technician in the Physic's Department at Yale University and chief opersator of the heavy Ion Accelator Lab. Mr Hildrich was a 17 year member of the Annawon Lodge, #115 A.F.& A.M. in West Haven. He was also a member of the American Legion Post # 39, of Westville-New Haven and a former member of the Company Commander , New Haven Greys CO.A, 1st. Bn., 102nd. Inf. He was a veteran of WW II and Korea in the U.S. Army Infantry. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal on June 6, 1944. He retired in 1954 as a Captain having served in the Asiatic and Pacific during WW II and in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Robert Hildrich and Andrea Nadel and two grandaughters, Rachel A. Hildrich and Lena A. Hildrich all of Orange. He was predeceased by a sister, Alma M. Hildrich. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service in Oak Grove Cemetery, West Haven, Wednesday, January 28th at 11 a.m. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR Funeral Home, 410 Campbell Ave. at Court St., West Haven Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:15. Friends are also invited to attend a Memorial Service at the First Congregational Church West Haven, on Sat., Jan. 31, 2004 at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, Book of Rememberance,464 Campbell Ave., West Haven, CT 06516.
