Josephine M. DellaCamera, age 81, of Hamden, passed away on May 24, 2015. Born in New Haven on June 17, 1933 she was a daughter of the late Daniel Mezzanotte & Nancy Girmaldi Mezzanotte. Josephine was a school teacher, retired from the City of New Haven. She later worked for SARAH Inc. & Haddam Self Storage while she lived with her sister for 20 years in Higganum. Josephine lastly lived in the Arden House in Hamden, where she met many new friends & staff that her family would like to thank for the care she received in her time of need, especially Emily. Josephine is survived by her daughter, Christine D. (Wilson) Buechele & her husband Donald of Hamden; her sons Louis D. DellaCamera & his wife Tanya of Daytona Beach, FL and Daniel A. DellaCamera & his wife Sherril of North Haven; granddaughter Kimmie Wilson; step-grandchildren Samantha DellaCamera & Michael Flanders & several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her former husband Albert DellaCamera, her sister Louise Chambers and her step-granddaughter Desiree Flanders. Friends may attend her funeral on Friday, June 5th at 9:00 AM from Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 AM in St. Anthony Church. Friends may also visit with her family at the funeral home on Thursday, June 4th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Interment will be private. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Anthony Church, 70 Washington Ave, New Haven, CT 06519.
