Meriden-Joyce Gauthier Winkel, 75, formerly of David Dr., died Mon., Jan. 10, 2005 at MidState Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Wayne Earl Winkel. Born in Meriden, Feb. 2, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Howard L. and Ethel M. Watmore Gauthier. She retired in 1992 from Travelers Insurance Company as Director of Worker's Compensation after 40 years of employment. She was Past President of Travelers Choral Club, was a member of Meriden Grange, the Connecticut Baptist Home Choir, the Meriden Emblem Club, was treasurer for the Lady Elks and was Program Coordinator and on the telephone committee of the Kiwanis Hi-Lighters. She was a member of both the South Meriden Trinity United Methodist and the First United Methodist Churches. She is survived by a brother, Howard L. Gauthier and is wife, Virginia Anne of Columbus, OH, a niece, Nicole S. Lee and her husband, Thomas K. of Dublin, OH and a nephew, Gregory M. Gauthier, M.D. of Madison, Wisconsin. Funeral service Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 at BEECHER & BENNETT FLATOW FUNERAL HOME, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. The Rev. Eric Henderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 10 - 11 a.m. prior to the service.
