June Elise Larson, 87, of Wallingford, CT , beloved wife of 63 years to Kenneth A. Larson passed away on February 8, 2009 after a short illness. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 10, 1921 to the late Kurvin and Rose Strine Glatfelter. Besides her husband, June leaves her three children; Elise Gordon and her husband Jeffrey of Wethersfield, CT, Ken Larson, Jr. of Hamden, CT, and Dr. Matthew Larson of Milton, MA. Brother K Jack Glatfelter of Englewood, FL and many nieces and nephews who meant the world to her. She is predeceased by her brother Thurber S. Glatfelter. June grew up in New Haven before moving to Orange where she lived for 50 years with her family. They moved to Southington and lived for 14 years before recently settling at Ashlar Village in Wallingford. June is a past President and active member of the Orange Women's Club. She was a member of the Orange Women's Guild and the Orange Congregational Church. Amongst various other jobs like being an Air Raid Warren during WWII, June was the Tax Collector for Woodbridge, the Assistant Town Clerk, and the Assistant Tax Collector both in Orange. June was an amazing wife and spectacular mother. Besides the love she gave, she will be missed most for her sense of humor and no nonsense attitude. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 6th at 2:00 at the Orange Congregational Church, 205 Meetinghouse Lane, Orange. Arrangments in care of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden.   1. Although our families have grown up and apart, we were all so fortunate to have been together for my Dad Elmer’s 90th birthday in December. Auntie June looked fabulous–she was my closest aunt, and I will miss her very much.

  2. My last and dearest aunt will be sorely missed. She looked fabulous in December at my father’s 90th birthday party. We all have wonderful pictures and memories of her there to look back upon.
