June M. Rahl

June Marie Rahl, age 92, of Hamden, passed away on July 16, 2021. Born in New Haven on January 12, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Bernice (Marlowe) Coomes. June was predeceased by her loving husband of 69 years, Joseph T. Rahl, Sr. (Ret. HFD); her son, Joseph T. Rahl, Jr., and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Nicholson. One of eight children, she is survived by only one sister, Gail Marshall of Deerfield Beach, FL. A devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; she is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Nicholson and her husband Michael of Guilford, and her son William Rahl, her devoted full-time caregiver; daughter-in-law Mary Rahl, her grandchildren; Jennifer Day and her husband Brian, Annie Nicholson, Michelle Rahl and Rollin, Brian Nicholson and his wife Meagan, and Ned Nicholson; and her great- granddaughter Sophia, along with several nieces and nephews. A lifelong resident of Hamden, she was a former bookkeeper for Brock Hall Dairy, Knudsen Brothers Dairy, and Giering Metal Finishing.
Friends are invited to visit with her family on Monday, July 19th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Her Prayer Service will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home, followed by burial in Centerville Cemetery.
