Karen M. Edgerton beloved wife of Theodore H. Edgerton of Murlyn Rd., Hamden, passed away Jan. 13, 2007 at her home. She was born in New Haven, June 11, 1934 a daughter of the late George and Maybel Anderson Mower and was a lifelong Hamden resident. Karen graduated from Endicott Women's College in Boston with an Associates Degree and was employed by SNET Co. for several years. She also enjoyed designing and making costumes for the Medieval Manor Restaurant in Boston. In Hamden she was a longtime volunteer and fundraiser for the Friends of the Hamden Library. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Alissa Clough of New Haven, stepsons, Bruce and Brian Edgerton and five adoring step-grandchildren. Funeral service for immediate family will be Tues., Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave., Meriden, CT 06450.

  1. Karen was a dear friend and I will miss her smile. I never heard her speak ill of anyone and would always lighten the mood of any room she entered. A hard worker and devoted friend and mother, who could ask for a better person.
