Katherine I. Nolan, 85, of Hamden, passed away on February 7, 2011 at Hamden Health Care. She was born in New Haven on June 14, 1925 to the late George R. and Katherine Corbett Nolan. Kathy leaves her siblings, Barbara Fitzsimons of Hamden, Mary Elizabeth Reilly of North Haven, and George R. Nolan, Jr. and his wife Anne of Eastham, MA; seventeen nieces and nephews and numerous grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Tom Nolan and his wife Jeanne and her sister, Jeannette Nolan and brothers-in-law, Daniel Fitzsimons and Richard Reilly. Kathy grew up in New Haven and has lived in Hamden for the last 38 years. She was a communicant of St. Rita's Church, a member of the Pioneers through SNET, and worked as a manager for SNET. When Kathy wasn't working she spent her free time with a wonderful group of ladies, that for 50 years had dinner or lunch together once a month. Her family was extremely important to her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 11th in St. Rita's Church at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Friends may also visit with the family Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden Contributions in Kathy's memory may be sent to Clelian Adult Day Center, 261 Benham St., Hamden, CT 06514.
