Keith David Smith
Keith David Smith, 47, of Hamden, husband of Elizabeth Pope, passed away on March 4, 2011. He was born in New Haven on July 16, 1963 to Arthur H. Smith of Southington and the late Joan Onofrio Smith. Besides his father, Keith leaves his brother, Kevin M. Smith of Southington and was predeceased by an infant sister, Susan Ileen Smith. Keith worked at Stop&Shop for many years. A Funeral Service will take place at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, on Thursday, March 10th at 10 a.m. followed by his burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden. Friends may also visit with his family on Thursday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Keith's memory may be sent to Muscular Dystrophy Society, 1952 Whitney Ave., #220, Hamden, CT 06517.
Dear Elizabeth, Art & Kevin, You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. My deepest sympathy and condolences to you all. We will cherish Keith’s memory and all of the good times! Keith was an avid Miami Dolphin fan. Go Ricky Williams!! Keith loved to draw and perform…we will never forget all of those wonderful concerts and of course, Elizabeth, your beautiful wedding and trip to Florida. Art, Betsy& family, my deepest condolences for your loss. I admired Keith for his sense of humor and profound determination. Keith will be missed. He was one of the funniest people I knew and could always make me laugh. My heart goes out to you and your family and all of the Avalon residents.
Dear Elizabeth, We will miss Keith’s sense of humor, and his enthusiasm for music and performing. I remember when he dressed as Garth Brooks for the Best Buddies dance a couple of years ago. I’m so glad my mom had the chance to meet him, and to dance with you both that day! I will also remember how much he loved animals, and how he enjoyed visits from Tango and Barnaby Jones.
