Kenneth Jacob Krick
Kenneth Jacob Krick, 84, of 87 Hanover St., Yalesville died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. He leaves his beloved wife of 59 years, Maedred Evers Krick. He was born Apr. 30, 1917 in Meriden, the son of the late Jacob and Anna Gamber Krick and was a graduate of Meriden High School, serving as a class officer. He was a member of the Meriden High School State and New England Champion basketball team for the seasons of 1934-35 and 1935-36. During World War II he served in Africa with the 57th Fighter Group of the Army Air Force. He was employed as a salesman with various meat packing companies after which he worked parttime for sixteen years in the deli and on the golf range at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #9 in Wallingford and was an avid golfer. Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by his cherished family, a daughter, Karen A. Krick of Wallingford; a son and his wife, Donald A. and Odelie C. Krick; a grandson and his wife, Jason Michael and Jennifer Lynn Krick of Round Lake, IL; and a sister, Mildred Zigmond. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Krick and a sister, Adeline Lynes. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 159 East Main St., Meriden. The Rev. Eric Henderson will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden.
