Resided in: Deep River, CT

Kimberly Ann Nedovich Afonso, 56, passed away on October 18, 2022 at her residence in Deep River. Born on October 2, 1966 in Selfridge Air Force Base in Mt. Clemens, MI to Paul and Joan Hansted Nedovich of Guilford, CT. Along with her parents, Kim will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Alyssa Afonso of Islamorada, FL and her sister, Heather Nedovich of Kailua Kona, HI. Predeceased by her brother, Paul Nedovich, Jr.
After spending much of her childhood in New Hampshire, Kim graduated from Morgan High School in Clinton, CT before attending and graduating from New Haven College. Kim spent her long career in the resort business, most recently with Hilton Properties where she had been employed for the last five years. She was a hard worker but appreciated time with her daughter, especially if they were doing girlie things. Watching movies, getting her nails done, and cooking were some of Kim’s favorite pastimes. Her absolute love though was being out in the warm sun and swimming. She enjoyed the ocean and had a liking to octopus and recognized their uniqueness. Kim will be remembered for her good attitude even in negative situations. She was constantly positive and always knew the right words to share in any situation. Kim’s remarkable cuddles and kisses will forever be missed by her family.
Friends are invited to visit with her family on Saturday, October 29th from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. in BEECHER & BENNETT FUNERAL HOME, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. A Memorial Service celebrating Kim’s life will take place at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by her interment in Hamden Plains Cemetery. 1. I am so sorry to hear this and for your loss. My heart goes out to you all. Kim and I were friends in school when she lived here in NH and after when she moved to Connecticut. We had some fun summer times together! Again my sincere condolences to you all.

  2. I was a friend of her sister when Kim and I first met. In time we became friends as well and she gave me a chance to work for her at the hotel she was opening. Some nights we would walk along the beach and she’d tell me stories about why she loved what she did and she shared with me parts of it that were hard but worth it in the end. That experience put a fire in me to want to return to the hospitality industry and its lead me to an adventurous career.

You inspired and I’m sorry if I didn’t tell you truly how much. You’re amazing family and especially your daughter are going to miss you so much but I know you’re looking down on them.

    Rest and peace

  3. My prayers are with the Nedovich Family, I knew them all as a child growing up in Clinton, CT. May God guide all of u, provide strength and may your memories of Kim provide u some comfort. 10. Kim Heather and I along with my brother Anthony spent many times and vacations together growing up as children. Our parents were all very close growing up. Our family have wonderful memories ❤️ Kim was always full of fun growing up. One of my fondest memories was at the Clinton beach house at a party ( I think 4th of July) when we kids swam in the ocean in the dark! I was scared but Kim assured me everything would be ok…and it was. I also remember our Sanibel Island vacation all together too! I’m truly saddened to hear of Kim’s untimely death. Our whole family is. We kids may not have kept in touch but thst doesn’t change the fact that we don’t love you. Thank you for the memories Kim rest in peace 🙏 xoxo Lots of love, Strength and Hugs to Heather. Joan & Paul as well to Kim’s daughter family and friends ❤️

  11. We’ll miss you dearly cousin and your happy smiles. Keep some seats warm and drinks cool in heaven and we’ll meet again one day.
