Laura Ann Johnson, age 51, passed away on March 8, 2017 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was born in New Haven on July 1, 1965 to parents Edwin and Edith Brockett Johnson. After graduating from West Haven High School, she went on to work for Yale University in the Sterling Memorial Library, where she worked for almost 25 years. Most recently she worked at the Yale School of Medicine Pathology Dept. as a lab technician. Laura is survived by her mother Edith Brockett Johnson of West Haven, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Edwin Johnson. In her free time, Laura was an active member of First Baptist Church in West Haven, where she served as Deaconess. She loved arts and crafts and traveling to different fairs and festivals. She also loved cats, especially her own, Oliver. A service celebrating Laura's life will take place on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 10:30am in the BEECHER & BENNETT-TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., West Haven. Friends may visit with her family from 9:30am until the time of the service. Interment to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Laura's name may be sent to WHEAT, Inc. Attn: Director, 674 Washington Ave. West Haven, CT 06516.

  1. We were very sad to learn of Laura’s passing. She was a wonderful woman with a kind and gentle soul. We will miss Laura a lot! May she Rest In Peace with the Lord.
